The kids are always watching "iCarly" and it's a pretty funny show actually. The lead actress (Miranda Cosgrove) always seemed familiar to me, but I never made the connection until tonight. So... I'm watching a documentary online about the old TV series "The Outer Limits" - in particular, the episode "Demon With The Glass Hand" (which I've seen many times). The female lead (Arlene Martel) looked very familiar and suddenly I realized who Miranda Cosgrove of the Nickelodeon show "iCarly" reminded me of. Separated by 57 years, these two actresses could pass for mother and daughter or sisters! Arlene Martel is probably most recognized by fan boy types as Spock's 'wife' in the original Star Trek. Am I nuts? Do YOU see it?

I definitely see the resemblance. As you say, they look as if they're related.

These kind of vague associations really stick in the back of my head until I make the connection. It was nice to clear this one out of the brain attic. :-)

Mirranda also reminds me a bit of Fran Drescher, who played The Nanny.

The same thing just happened to me. I had always thought Miranda Cosgrove looked familiar... her face was always striking to me. Tonight I downloaded Demon with the Glass Hand off of iTunes and it hit me exactly the same way. It was as if I had the last piece of the puzzle.

To continue, then I Googled Arlene Martel and found your post here. Good to have confirmation.

Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone! It seems Ms. Martel agrees with us as well based on her comment on my FB page!

You aren't the first person to make this connection. However, I'm pleasantly surprised to see someone else noticed the resemblance. I suspect there is some commonality in their ethnicity. Apparently both have Eastern European roots.
